Indexing the Spatiotemporal . . .

چکیده
In Geographic InfolTnation Systems spatial objects may change their spatiallocation and/or shapes over time. Query processing of such spatiotemporal objects consists of spatial query conditions and temporal query conditions. Dur study focuses on representing the spatiotemporal monitoring of a polygonal object and aims at developing an efficient data structure supporting queries and operations that refer to both spatial and temporal monitoring. In this paper, we present a first perfolTnance comparison which indicates that spatial indexing offers apossibility of efficient query processing of a spatiotemporal object

Continuous Spatiotemporal Trajectory Joins
Given the plethora of GPS and location-based services, queries over trajectories have recently received much attention. In this paper we examine trajectory joins over streaming spatiotemporal data. Given a stream of spatiotemporal trajectories created by monitored moving objects, the outcome of a Continuous Spatiotemporal Trajectory Join (CSTJ) query is the set of objects in the stream, which h...
متن کاملModeling and Indexing Spatiotemporal Trajectory Data in Non-Relational Databases
With the ever-growing nature of spatiotemporal data, it is inevitable to use non-relational and distributed database systems for storing massive spatiotemporal datasets. In this chapter, the important aspects of non-relational (NoSQL) databases for storing large-scale spatiotemporal trajectory data are investigated. Mainly, two data storage schemata are proposed for storing trajectories, which ...
متن کاملExploiting semantic extraction for spacial-temporal indexing in GEONODE
This paper presents an approach to information access based on spatiotemporal indexing. We describe GeoNODE, a “news on demand” system that visualizes news stories and other articles in terms of chronological time lines, geographical maps, and spatiotemporal animations. This spatiotemporal indexing is critically informed by our information extraction system, Alembic. This paper thus covers seve...
متن کاملEfficient Indexing of Spatiotemporal Objects
Spatiotemporal objects i.e., objects which change their position and/or extent over time, appear inmany applications. This paper addresses the problem of indexing large volumes of such data. We consider general object movements and extent changes. We further concentrate on “snapshot” as well as small “interval” historical queries on the gathered data. The obvious approach that approximates spat...
متن کاملIndexing Spatio-Temporal Trajectories with Orthogonal Polynomials
In this paper we consider d-dimensional spatiotemporal data (d 1) and ways to approximate and index it. We focus on indexing such data for similarity matching using orthogonal polynomial approximations. There are many ways to choose an approximation scheme for d-dimensional spatiotemporal trajectories. Some of them have been studied before. In this paper we extend the approach proposed in [6] ...
